A Retreat in Daily Life for Chaplains is being hosted by the Jesuit Institute between Sunday 10th and Friday 15th May. This online retreat in daily life will draw on the Ignatian tradition for Christian Chaplains (voluntary or paid) who work in a variety of contexts: schools, hospitals, universities, and elsewhere. It will provide an opportunity for chaplains to take stock of their ministry and to deepen and refresh their relationship with God. The next Dominican Young Adults Study Day, under the title Human Origins - Creation and Evolution is being held on Saturday 23rd May, from 10.00am until 4.00pm, in the Frassati Centre, Leicester LE1 6HW. How do we reconcile the claims of modern science with the teaching of the Catholic Church? Are human beings nothing more than products of an aimless evolutionary process? Join the Dominican Young Adult Study Day led by Father Robert Verrill OP on 'theistic evolution': how to make sense of modern science's theory of evolution in light of Catholic teaching on God, creation, and the human person. On Saturday 12th September Caritas Leicester and Leicestershire is holding a workshop at Holy Cross Church, Leicester, on the theme “Introducing synodality to our parishes”. It will be led by Dr Austen Ivereigh, the biographer of Pope Francis who was very involved in the synod on synodality as an invited expert, and who has given a number of these workshops. The aim of the workshop is to respond to the call by Pope Leo to become a “synodal Church”, that is, one where the faithful gather to listen deeply and prayerfully to each other and thereby to open ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
