Young Adult events across the diocese in May
Young Adults are warmly invited to join us at:
Saint Barnabas Cathedral on Thursday 1st May.
Starting from 6pm with the talk at 7pm. Sister Catherine, COLW is delivering our talk this month giving some of her own testimony and input on Our Lady. We will pray vespers together, share some pizza and have some social time as well! Melwood Jubilee Pilgrimage
The Saint Augustine Webster Melwood Jubilee Pilgrimage to the site of Melwood Abbey will be held on Saturday 3rd May at 12.00 noon, at Low Melwood Farm, Owston Ferry DN9 1AD. The Pilgrimage starts with the Rosary and Procession, followed by Mass in one of the farm's storage barns. Don’t forget to bring a chair, picnic (optional), and appropriate footwear for walking country footpaths.
The Nottingham Diocesan Missio Mass
The Nottingham Diocesan Missio Mass in thanksgiving for all Missio’s volunteersThe 37th Anniversary Mass praying for the Beatification and Canonisation of Venerable Mary Potter will take place on Tuesday 13th May at 1pm in Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham, celebrated by Bishop Patrick. All are warmly invited to join us in prayer for the Beatification and Canonisation of Venerable Mary Potter. Refreshments will be available in the Cathedral Hall following the Mass and supporters will be celebrated at Saint Winefride’s Church, Charnwood Road, Shepshed LE12 9QF on Saturday 10th May at 3.00pm. Bishop Patrick will celebrate the Mass, joined by Father Anthony Chantry (Missio National Director) and Father Patrick Bassey (Diocesan Director for Missio). All are warmly welcome, and to stay for the refreshments after the Mass also.
The 37th Anniversary Mass praying for the Beatification and Canonisation of Venerable Mary Potter

Called to Love: Masculine and Feminine, Friday 9th – Sunday 11th May.
A weekend for young adults, whether single, dating or engaged, exploring the nature of masculinity and femininity. The retreat, at the Christian Heritage Centre, Lancashire, will consider the contemporary challenges to being a man and a woman and the Church’s wisdom for this, drawing particular inspiration from Saint John Paul II. Gregorian Chant
A day of workshops and talks on Gregorian Chant is being held on Saturday 17th May from 10am, and finishing with Sung Vespers at 4pm. See the poster for more details, costs, and a QR code for booking.

Jubilee Art Exhibition
The Lester family will be hosting a Jubilee Art Exhibition fundraiser over the weekend of 10th and 11th May in the church hall at Saint Pius X, Narborough. This will be a significant event for the two local parishes as many non-parishioners are expected. Opening times are 10.30am until 3.30pm on Saturday 10th and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sunday 11th.
Appeal for volunteers for Nottingham Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage
The Health Team who support the Nottingham Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage is in need of some additional experienced team members for this year’s pilgrimage. If you, or someone you know, is a currently Registered Nurses or trained and experienced Care Worker, who may be interested and can commit to being available for this year’s Jubilee Pilgrimage between Monday 14th and Friday 18th July, as well as for a couple of training days on Sunday 15th and Saturday 28th June, please contact Deacon David Knight (david@sthughslincoln.org.uk) for more details.
Jubilee of Communication Workers Conference
The Communications Department invites all involved or interested in communications (Social Media, Journalism, Website, Parish Newsletters, plus any other means...) to the upcoming Communications Conference, celebrating the Jubilee of Communication Workers. Held at Cathedral Hall, Nottingham, on Monday 2nd June from 10am – 2pm, the event will include a networking breakfast, a keynote input, workshops, Q&A, concluding with Mass celebrated by Bishop Patrick, with the blessing of communication workers, and lunch. Lourdes Reunion

Summer School hosted by the Society of Saint Gregory
The Society of Saint Gregory is hosting a Summer School between Wednesday 30th July and Saturday 2nd August with the theme of Jubilee and Hope reflected in the liturgies and music, providing an opportunity to reflect on how to take the message of hope back to our parish communities. Appeal for Briars Ambassador
Could you be a Briars Ambassador for 12 months? The Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Service (NDCYS) has a wonderful group of volunteers who support The Briars Catholic Youth Retreat Centre through practical support, prayer and fundraising. The Friends of The Briars is hosting an Ambassadors’ Day for those interested in becoming a Briars Ambassador, on Saturday 7th June between 10.00am and 3.00pm at The Briars, DE4 5BW. Youth 2000 Summer Festival
Taking place in the grounds of Ampleforth College from Friday 22nd - Monday 25th August, the Youth 2000 Summer Festival provides young adults (aged 16-35) from across the UK the opportunity to come together and explore faith, build relationships and find hope.
