A Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 adult formation course in Dereham this August

Christine Byrne (Diocese of Southwark) will be delivering the first half of a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 adult formation course in Dereham this August. This course enables participants to share the Gospel with children age 3-6, by using this beautiful and profound approach, and is open to parish catechists, parents, grandparents and teachers. The Caritas Workshop for everyone on Saturday 12th September at Holy Cross Priory, Leicester

Join the Caritas Workshop for everyone on Saturday 12th September at Holy Cross Priory, Leicester.  Pope Leo and Pope Francis ask all the baptised to build new relationships in the Church through 'synodality’ (walking together).  Led by Dr Austen Ivereigh, the workshop runs from 10am until 3pm and will explore practical ways to listen, build relationships and be inspired towards mission.  A donation of £20 is suggested to cover costs, though if this amount means you can’t come, you are invited to give what you can.  Any surplus will  be donated to Caritas Nottingham.  Book through at https://bit.ly/synodalityleics or using the QR code

 On Saturday 12th September Caritas Leicester and Leicestershire is holding a workshop at Holy Cross Church, Leicester, on the theme “Introducing synodality to our parishes”. It will be led by Dr Austen Ivereigh, the biographer of Pope Francis who was very involved in the synod on synodality as an invited expert, and who has given a number of these workshops.  The aim of the workshop is to respond to the call by Pope Leo to become a “synodal Church”, that is, one where the faithful gather to listen deeply and prayerfully to each other and thereby to open ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  All are welcome.  If you’d like to know more about synodality, try looking at www.schoolforsynodality.org.uk/


A Plainchant Workshop in Glossop, Saturday 12th September, 2.00pm to 3.45pm, free event, donations welcome.  Plainchant, or plainsong, is an ancient and beautiful form of singing.  In this practical workshop, we will explore how it differs from modern singing styles and discover the basic rubrics for singing chant.  We will also look at some of the ways in which we use plainchant in the churches in Glossop.  Please bring a pen or a pencil, and water to drink: there will be plenty of opportunities to sing!
