Becoming Catholic
"Answering the Call to Faith, Discovering the Joy of Christ."
Welcome to the journey of faith! If you are interested in learning about the Catholic faith or considering becoming Catholic, we are here to support and guide you every step of the way. Whether you’re new to Christianity or coming from a different Christian background, we warmly welcome you to explore, ask questions, and grow in your relationship with God.
What Does It Mean to Become Catholic?
Becoming Catholic is a profound and transformative experience. It means joining a global family of faith and embracing a rich tradition rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The journey includes learning about the faith, deepening your understanding of the sacraments, and building a personal relationship with God. It’s a path of growth, discovery, and, ultimately, commitment to live as a follower of Christ.
The Journey to becoming Catholic
For Adult:
The journey to becoming Catholic typically follows a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). RCIA is a series of classes, discussions, and spiritual formation sessions for those interested in joining the Catholic Church. RCIA (known as the Faith Journey Group in our parish) is open to all adults who are interested in becoming Catholic, whether they’re unbaptized or baptized in another Christian tradition.
Here’s an overview of the steps involved:

If you are not Catholic but have received Baptism as described above, we consider your baptism valid. So, you will not be baptised again if you choose to join the Catholic Church. Rather, you will be initiated into full communion with us through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
